Cornerstone is all about the gospel, not only for salvation but for living every single moment. We realize that the gospel is just as necessary for the new believer as someone who has walked with God for decades. The gospel is to be regarded not as elementary to our Christian walk but of “first importance” ( 1 Corinthians 15:1-3 (https://biblia.com/bible/nasb95/1%20Cor%2015.1-3) ). Scripture says that the gospel is the “power of God” ( Romans 1:16 (https://biblia.com/bible/nasb95/Rom%201.16) ) and it affirms the reality that when we are consumed with the gospel that we are transformed by it ( 2 Corinthians 3:18 (https://biblia.com/bible/nasb95/2%20Cor%203.18) ; 4:4 (https://biblia.com/bible/nasb95/2%20Corinthians%204.4) ). We recognize the fact that we become more like Christ, grow in our love for Him, and bring Him glory as we experience the gospel in all of its fullness. We experience the gospel by daily, moment by moment, thinking about it, listening to it, speaking it, living it out, standing in it, and hoping in it. In order to experience the gospel, we must daily go to the cross and study what it proclaims about who God is, what He’s done, who we were, and what we’ve become. As we daily experience the gospel in all of its fullness we will find ourselves, our relationship with God, and our relationship with others transformed.
