Let me, invite you to turn in your Bibles to Genesis 24 for our time of study and the word this morning. I just now announced a beautiful arrival. The title of the message this morning is A Beautiful Leaving. A beautiful departure.
We're continuing in our study through the book of Genesis, and as we continue in our study, we come to Genesis 24:28. My goal, this morning is to cover verses 28 through 61. Where we will observe. The departure of Rebecca from Huron, from her family in Huron to the land of Canaan to marry Isaac.
In the Bible's great definition of marriage that is found in Genesis chapter 2 verse 24, the scripture says for this cause, a man shall leave his father and his mother and cleave to his wife and the two. shall become one flesh. We see from that definition that there are two great elements. In marriage, and that is leave and cleave.
which must be done for a husband and wife to truly become one in marriage. In order for a marriage to actually occur, a man and a woman must leave their father and mother, and then they must cleave to one another. So every marriage, therefore, is not just a story of cleaving. It is also inclusive of a story of leaving....
