We're doing a verse by verse study through the Gospel of John, and as we continue in our study this morning, we come to John chapter 9, verse 1. And my goal this morning is to cover verses 1 through 41. So we're gonna cover. A lot of verses, today, but the title of the message is a blind man sees while seeing men can't.
A blind man sees while seeing men can't. In his song, The River of Dreams, that came out in 1993, the songwriter, and performer Billy Joel. says these words in the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep from the mountains of faith to the river so deep. I must be looking for something, something sacred I lost.
But the river is wide and it's too hard. To cross In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep through the jungle of doubt to the river so deep. I know I'm searching for something, something so undefined that it can only be seen by the eyes of the blind. In the middle of the night.
Well, in our passage today, we're going to see a blind man. Unable to see the truth about Jesus with astonishing clarity, and at the same time, we're going to see a group of religious experts with perfect physical eyesight confronted with the same Lord Jesus. And we will see how blind they really are to the truth about Jesus. All in all, our passage today will remind us that Jesus is the light of the world....
