, well, let me invite you to turn in your Bibles this morning to Genesis chapter 18. Genesis chapter 18 for our time of study and God's word this morning, we're doing a verse by verse study through The Book of Genesis, and as we continue in our study of this book, we come today to Genesis 18:16, and my goal this morning is to cover verses 16 through 33. And if you want to give a title to the message this morning, it would be A Conversation Between Friends. A conversation between friends, just a wonderful passage that hopefully we'll be able to do justice to.
I've shared this with you guys, before, but, just to tell it again because I like to hear myself tell it, I first became smitten with Donna, who is now my wife during my freshman year of high school. she was the prettiest girl that I had ever seen in my life and I knew that I had to step out of my comfort zone and try to get her. So I bought a greeting card and I walked up to her on a Wednesday evening after church and I gave that greeting card to her. We had a conversation there in the church parking lot that lasted for about 20 seconds.
And it lasted 20 seconds because it was right about the 22nd point that I ran out of stuff to talk about. So I said goodbye and I walked away. And that conversation between Donna and I was so amazing. That we did not have another conversation for another 2 years.
Even though we were in the same youth group. I think we were both just digesting that initial conversation. There was So much to process. But even though we didn't talk over that two-year period, I admired her from afar....
