Well, what a challenging time we are all living in, right? During this coronavirus trial, God certainly has our attention. And many of you are responding to God in the right way. And there have been many theological terms that have been part of our conversations with our families and friends and unsafe loved ones such as God's love, God's mercy, God's kindness, and His grace to see us through this multifaceted trial that the epistle James speaks about.
Well, two other well-known popular topics we believers have had conversations about is first on the subject of God's sovereignty. God's sovereignty. What do we mean by God's sovereignty? Well, Wayne Gruden, author of Systematic Theology, says God's sovereignty is a supreme rule, authority, and ordination over all of his creation.
God rules everything. In fact, Psalm 103:19 says, the Lord has established his throne in the heavens and His sovereignty rules over all. Well, another theological topic that is directly connected to God's sovereignty is God's providence. What do we mean by God's providence?
And you all know this. Grude again says God's providence is the outworking of God's sovereignty as it relates to God and man. God works daily through events and circumstances in our lives until his purposes are fulfilled. So God is working in and through our lives to accomplish his goal of sanctification by making you and me more like Christ, and in the end, glorification....
