So a lot of good news here, but let me invite you to turn in your Bibles this morning to Genesis chapter 8. Genesis chapter 8 for our time of study. In God's word this morning, we're doing a verse by verse study through the book of, Genesis, and as we continue in our study of this book, we come this morning to Genesis chapter 8, verse 15, and my goal this morning is to cover verses 15 through the end of the chapter and if you want to give a title to the message this morning, it would be an epic sacrifice, an epic sacrifice. it is easy to read the story of the great flood and to see the flood for the world altering history altering event that it was, and then come to our passage today.
After the flood is over and see the passage today as something of an afterthought. The flood is over, the earth is dry, Noah and the animals come out of the ark and Noah's so grateful, he builds an altar and worships God. What else would we have thought would have happened there? But actually, in our passage today, We see something just as world altering.
And history altering as a global flood. And this morning, we will get to see what that thing is and what it was that brought that about. Perhaps as we've been studying the story of the great flood. destroying all of life, the judgment of God unleashed upon sinners and destroying all of life on earth.
Maybe as we've been studying this, you have found yourself asking or you've anticipated somebody asking you the question, how could a good God do something like this? Actually, what we should be asking is, how is it that there has only been one global flood? In human history. Why haven't there been 20 global floods since the flood of Noah's day?...
