Well, if you guys remember, about 35 years before King Ahab, we have this king named Jeroboam. He's the first king of Israel, once we have the divided kingdom. And Jeroboam just basically makes up his own religion, right? He doesn't want people going back down to, to Jerusalem to worship Yahweh.
He wants to keep everybody up north and so he creates some golden calves again, harkening back to the old days, right? And says, sets them up and says you guys should worship. This is the God that delivered you guys out of Egypt and you can sacrifice at, Dan, or, what's the other place? Bethel.
Was it Bethel in the south and Dan in the north. And so he just makes up his own religion. It was a festivus for the rest of us. If you guys have any idea what that means.
It's made up a brand new religion just to keep everybody in control. So 35 years later, if you track the different kings in, in the north. You have a certain king and this one's bad, this one's bad, this one's bad. 35 years, you come to Ahab and he is not just bad, he's the worst....
