Lord, we're so grateful to be here today, just to, to study your word this This letter of love that you have given to us, Lord, we You have the words of eternal life. Where else shall we go? you have not just given us a dead book that we can read and find out information, but it's through your word and through prayer as we engage the Holy Spirit that We have this relationship with you. We pray that this morning that we would be like Mary sitting at your feet, hearing, your instruction.
this is the one thing that we need, and so we come to you this morning in Christ's name. Amen. One of the things that the Lord's been really impressing upon me lately is all the different places in the Bible where it talks about the one thing. and one of those places is in Luke chapter 17, that scene where Mary is just sitting at the feet of Christ.
Martha's up doing good things, right? She's trying to get the meal prepared and all that. Go to the Lord, says, Lord, why don't you make my sister come help me? She's just sitting around.
It was Jesus say, Martha, Martha, you're worried and distracted about many things, but there is one thing that is needed, and Mary has chosen that good thing, will not be taken from her. So if you think about it, there's all kinds of things that are vying for our attention, but Jesus says, there's one domino that will help other dominoes fall over, and that is our regular feeding upon Christ Himself through his word. And if we can just keep that in mind, I don't know about you, but I can get so overwhelmed with all of the things that I need to do, both in my personal life, my relationship with my family, work, everything else. But if I can just focus it down to like, what's the one thing that if I don't get anything else accomplished today, what's the one thing And it's my relationship with Christ, that has to be the one, the first domino....
