For everything created by God is good and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the Word of God and prayer. The title of this morning's message is simply apostasy. Some will depart from the faith. I'd like to take you back and just tell you a little bit of my testimony.
at 9 years old, I made a profession of faith. I had a live-in babysitter that came to live with our family that led me in a, a prayer, of confession to the Lord. And many times I made professions of faith asking Jesus to forgive me of my sins. I remember one particular day in my junior high school, a social studies class, hearing about the religions of Hinduism and Buddhism.
And as my social studies teacher was teaching us about these, faiths rather passionately, I just remember this warm feeling coming over me. And in my heart, the sense of this is true. This must be true, and I wanted it to be true. There was something in my heart that even though I've made a profession of faith, and even though I knew the gospel, I wanted Hinduism or Buddhism....
