Well, as for the deposit of truth that I have to give you today, let me have you turn to Genesis chapter 6. Genesis chapter 6, we're doing a verse by verse study through the Book of Genesis, and as we continue in our study of the Book of Genesis this morning, we come to Genesis chapter 6 verse 1. And I initially planned on covering verses 1 through 8 and then had to shorten it to verses 1 through 4 and then had to shorten it to verses 12, and 3. And even that, we're not fully doing justice to it, but if you want to give a title to the message this morning, it would be Courting Catastrophe.
Courting Catastrophe. Today we begin our study. of the story, the historical narrative of Noah and the flood. What we will see in the coming chapters is a historical recounting of the greatest and most destructive event in the history of the world.
We will also read inside the narrative here in the coming chapters of the greatest rescue operation that the world has Ever seen. In the coming weeks, we're going to witness the destruction of every human being and of every land dwelling animal and of every single flying bird on Earth. And we will also witness 8 people, only 8 people, along with the animals that are with them in the ark being rescued from death. We will also discover in Genesis 6.
And following that while the great flood was an ecological disaster, it was no natural disaster. This cataclysmic event was brought on by Jehovah God, and it was man's sin that caused Jehovah God. To make the decision to destroy every living thing on Earth in this way and to wipe them out. We will also see in the coming verses and chapters....
