Mother's Day. This is Mother's Day, and hopefully that's not a shock to any man in this room. but being Mother's Day, we want to take a moment to recognize the moms that are in this room this morning, and we have a gift for you, a book by Brenda Payne called Motherhood Hope for Discouraged Moms. So if you are a discouraged mom, or maybe you're not discouraged, but you are a mother, we would love to have you stand and put this gift in your hands.
So why don't you stand and let's express our appreciation. You moms are, I started to say you moms are huge, but I You moms are very important, is what I want to say. And in Proverbs 4, Solomon says, when I was a son to my father, tender and precious in the sight of my mother, then my father taught me. And what we learned from that is that moms have a very significant role in the instruction of their children.
And one of the significant elements of their ministry is to create an atmosphere of tenderness and nurture. and, and it's in that atmosphere that children open their hearts to the Lord, to the beauty of the Lord. And in that state, they can receive instruction and the nurture and discipline of the Lord. So you in a lot of ways, moms, you are the thermostat in the home, the mood setter, and God uses you to create an environment in which biblical instruction and the ways of the Lord can, can happen.
And so, we just want to celebrate you and, encourage you this morning with how much you mean to us. And I'd like to take a moment, if you don't mind, and pray for you moms. Is that OK? Can I do that?...
