Have you guys turn in your Bibles this morning to Romans chapter 5. Romans chapter. 5, what we're going to do this morning is, try to pick up where we left off last week, just, making our way through this section of Romans 5, As for what we're going to do next week, I don't know, but we're just letting the Lord lead. There's a lot that's in this section of Romans 5 for us to look at and enjoy.
And last week, we spent our time in verses 1 and 2 looking at the doctrine of justification, and we found that it's a beautiful A doctrine that has enormous power to serve as fuel for our sanctification if we rightly understand it, live in the good of it, and celebrate it each day. Today we're essentially going to apply the doctrine of justification to show how practical that doctrine is, and we're going to see it applied essentially in verses 3 through 8. And if you want to give a title to the message, it would be How justified ones suffer. How justified ones suffer.
By the way, let me ask, feel free to raise your hands. How many of you would say that you're going through a season in your life right now that's characterized by just unusual and intense hardship and trial? Raise your hand. OK.
