In Ecclesiastes chapter 5. Solomon says in verse one, guard your steps as you go to the house of God. And draw near. To listen And that's what we're going to do at this point of Our service is listen to God as He speaks to us through His word.
If you guys can turn with me to Genesis chapter 30 for time of listening to God. Genesis chapter, 30. We are continuing in our verse by verse study through the book of Genesis, and as we continue in our study of this book, we come this morning to Genesis chapter 30. And we're going to be looking at verses 25 through 43 this morning and the title of the message is Jacob Prospers exceedingly.
That is the overarching Message of the passage that we will be looking at today. Let me start with this though, talking about a young man who was a troubled 17 year old from a broken home and never knew what it was like to experience love from his biological father. At the age of 17, he was tired of school, committing petty crimes and heading quickly in the wrong direction in life. Prior to his 18th birthday, he found himself standing in front of a juvenile judge at the Wayne County Courthouse in Michigan.
And the judge looked at this young man and said these words, quote, If I had a crystal ball and I could look into your future. I would see one of two things. Either 4 in the core or 10 in the pen once you turn 18. Unquote....
