Romans 8, let me invite you guys to turn. In your Bibles to Romans chapter 8, we'll be looking at a handful of passages of scripture. We've been doing a verse by verse study through Romans 567 and 8, a journey to the heart of the gospel. And what we're going to be doing, starting today is we're gonna turn a corner.
We've completed our study of that section of Romans, and I've seen a lot of wonderful gospel realities that are true of every believer in Christ. But it's time to turn a corner now and just ask, what do we do with all of this? the question is what then shall we do? If we just walk away from the truths that are in this section of the book of Romans and forget about them, well, then they're not going to do us much good.
But what do we do with this stuff that we have learned that serves to unleash these realities in our lives and in our ministry to others? That's the question that we are asking. Nancy Percy. In her book Total Truth, quotes from Charles Spurgeon, when he says the gospel is like a caged lion.
It does not need to be defended, it just needs to be let out of its cage. And there's a sense in which I think we do well to view the gospel truths in this section of Romans in the same way. What do we do that would serve to unleash these realities to operate in full effect and influence in our lives and in our ministry. And so we're gonna be compiling a list in the weeks to come of what do we do with these things and we're going to begin that list this morning....
