Our Heavenly Father, we just gather before your throne at this time thanking you for the privilege that we have had. In the last few moments to worship you, to stare at you, to stare at your greatness, and to cherish you, to love you. To enjoy you singing over us and for us to sing in reply to you. We thank you for all that you have done for us through Jesus Christ.
We deserve none of it, but you have been so gracious and so kind. Lord, as we turn to look at your word, this morning, and we thank you for the fact that you speak to us. If you were to treat us according to what we deserve, we would never hear your voice. And if we ever did, it would be a voice speaking with condemnation and judgment and wrath.
And yet, for those who have believed in Jesus, you so kindly speak to us in mercy and in grace. You speak to us so helpfully, comfortingly, and lovingly. We thank you for your precious words to us. As we will enjoy them this morning.
Lord, I just begin, this message this morning and this series on prayer by confessing to you my weakness. And I ask you, Lord, to help me with my weakness this morning. for I do not know how to preach as I should. But I ask that your spirit would help me in my weakness and that your spirit would so govern and lead and guide and direct....
