Acts chapter one, we're a tad short on time. let's try to get right into this. I wanna address the subject of preparing for and handling the blessing. Of God and this certainly can apply to your life as an individual and especially to us as a church.
I intend for this message to serve as something of a segue from Mike Barry's message last week to the subject of deacons that we're going to be getting into in earnest in 1 Timothy chapter 3. When I speak of the blessing of God, I'm talking about the blessing of people, all right. preparing for and handling the blessing of God as it comes, especially in the form of people that God brings into your life and in our case, as a church, people that God brings to cornerstone. And I became pastor about 6 months later, but the first time I filled the pulpit for Jim Brown, who was the pastor at the time, was almost exactly 18 years ago, and one of the things that struck my wife and I coming to this church was just the people, the quality of people that were here at Cornerstone.
We fell in love with the place and with the congregation. It was a congregation of about 75 people., coming on Sunday mornings. Over the last, 18 years, I've been blessed along with the elders and stuff, all of us have been blessed to just witness God working and growing, me growing you, all of us growing together, learning from each other, and God bringing, many blessings to us in the form of people to where nowadays it's not unusual for us to have 400 or more in a Sunday morning. service....
