Well, let me invite you this morning to, turn in your Bibles to Genesis chapter 18 for our time of study. And the word this morning. Genesis chapter 18. We're doing a verse by verse study through the book of Genesis, and as we continue in our study of this book this morning, we come to Genesis chapter 18 verse 1, and my goal, this morning is to cover verses 1 through 15.
And if you wanna give a title to the message this morning, it would be Sarah overhears the promise of a son. Sarah overhears the promise of a son. I, my wife and I have two daughters, both of whom are now, married. And as a father of daughters, one of the things that I have noticed over the years is how careful I have had to be in engaging in private conversations within earshot of them, because they can hear more than I think they can hear.
I've even experimented sometimes, over the years, by quietly talking to my wife. in our downstairs living room about one of our daughters, and that daughter will speak up from her upstairs bedroom. And say, I can hear you, Dad. It amazes me.
I sometimes don't hear things that are being said right next to me because my mind is off somewhere else, but the women in my house hear everything. What I've learned over the years is this, if a woman's ears are perked, There is nowhere within a neighborhood block. That they will not hear what you are saying and don't think whispering. Keeps them from hearing....
