Lord, we thank you for this, opportunity for us to come on this Lord's Day and to look at your word and who is worthy. To preach your word, who is worthy to hold your word, and yet you have ordained that the Word of God, that the gospel would be preached by sinners saved by grace. We ask that you would grant, that your word would be preached in power, in love and truth. We ask that you would grant that you would give us all ears to hear, to believe, obey and worship you.
We ask that you protect us from the devil who would want to inhibit the preaching of your word and the hearing of it and the obeying of it. We pray that you'd fill us with your Spirit now in Christ's name, we pray, and all God's people said, Amen. I'm gonna be continuing a series that's only been going on for about a year now. Called God in Your Body.
We started this last July, July 10th, in fact, we introduced this particular series, and we started with the scripture passage in 1 Corinthians 6, where it says, Paul says, you are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. And so we've proposed that we want to try to hold up all of our ideas about the body and take every thought captive and cause it to be submitted to Christ and we've suggested in the series starting last year. That, we do things in our culture we catch culture like we catch a cold.
We don't, people don't just thoughtfully go about becoming a culture, they just catch it from their environment. but as Christians, that's, it's not acceptable for us just to catch our culture like we catch the cold. We wanna take every thought. And submitted to Christ and say, Lord, is this the way we as Christians should think and behave?...
