Well, what I wanna do with the time that we have this morning is I want to talk to you on the subject of the meaning of the resurrection and we'll be lingering on this topic with the time that we have this morning. 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross, and we know from what the Bible teaches that he was shedding His blood and being crucified for our sins. But on the 3rd day after he was crucified, Jesus was resurrected physically and bodily from, the grave. That was a significant event in human history.
In fact, I hope you'll understand by the time we're done with the message this morning that the resurrection of Jesus physically, bodily from the grave 2000 years ago is the most significant thing that's ever happened. To you. It's the most important event in your life, and it has staggering implications. his resurrection from the grave changes absolutely everything about human history and about your life.
when you think about it, Jesus made some staggering claims about himself, did he not? He said things about himself like, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to the Father except through me. Jesus said.
He said things like, I am the bread, which is come down out of heaven, the bread of life. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever and never die. He said things like, I am the resurrection and the life. No other human being in the history of the world has made the unceasing claims that Jesus made about Himself, and we're really left ultimately with two choices regarding this Jesus....
