, let me have you guys turn in your Bibles to 1 Timothy chapter 4. 1 Timothy chapter 4. And I actually had 3 points for the message today again, but we didn't get to the 3rd point in the first service, so there's actually 2 points, and stay, come back next week and the week after, and we'll we'll get to where we got 1 point and then nothing. Just worship and go home.
First Timothy 4, for those of you that are visiting with us, we're doing a verse by verse study through the book of First Timothy, and as we continue in our study of this book, we come this morning to verse 11. And my goal today, if the first service is any indication, we're just gonna cover verses 11 and 12. And the title of the message is the role Pastors play in Your sanctification, the role that pastors play in your sanctification. We've been learning a lot over the last couple of weeks on the subject of the pursuit of godliness.
and one of the things that we're going to be clued into today, is that the way God has designed it, that in your pursuit of godliness, pastors have a role to play in your life as you pursue godliness. And you're going to get to listen in this morning as God speaks to a pastor. And tells a pastor what he is to do in the lives of God's people as they are pursuing godliness. And so as you listen in in that way, you'll be learning something about not only what God wants your pastor to do, but I want you to hear that and say, OK, I'm learning what I need to let my pastors do in In my life, this is a little bit of an awkward message for me to preach because part of my agenda today is to try to convey to you guys that you need me.
that just feels weird. but, I'll have to get past that. And, as I thought about it, though, I, I realized that that shouldn't feel all that weird because I do that all the time as a parent, that as my children have grown through the years, I've, I've had to I've had to try to persuade them at times that you need me. You actually need your dad right now....
