Let's pray Dear Lord, God in heaven Almighty, omnipotent, victorious God. The one who sent forth his Son to die on the cross, and he was raised up bodily from the dead, ascended, seated at the right hand, Jesus. living to make intercession for us, we approach your throne of grace with boldness this morning, confessing to you, Lord, the fact that we sin and fall short of the glory of God, acknowledging, Lord, that we are guilty of sins of commission as well as sins of omission. And yet, Lord, you are a merciful and gracious God.
You have been so kind to us, that you sent your Son Jesus to bleed his blood on the cross for us, that you took upon yourself the punishment that we deserve for our own crimes committed against you, and that Lord, you traded our rags for your own riches, and so we are dressed up. In the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no condemnation for any of us who are in Christ Jesus. You who began that work will complete that, Lord, we come to you with full confidence and trust in a good, merciful, kind God. We ask Lord that you would minister to us today, this Lord's Day.
Lord, that You would speak to us through your word, open. Our heart to your word. Open the eyes of our understanding, Lord. Let us behold wonderful things from your word, Lord.
Let us hear you speak to us. Let us behold you through the eyes of faith. Let us be nourished and encouraged, exhorted, challenged. give us things to think about, cause the truths that we meditate upon to dwell in our hearts....
