But let me invite you to turn in your Bibles, this morning to Romans chapter 6, Romans chapter 6 for our time of study in, in God's word, this morning. We're doing a, a series through Romans 5. 67, and 8, and I'm calling this a journey to the heart of the gospel. The essence of the historical gospel is Christ died, he was buried, he was raised.
But in Romans 5 through 8, Paul just sits there in front of these realities and goes really deep and starts pulling out all the things that that means for us. And as we continue in that journey with Paul just leading us through these things as our gospel tour guide. we come this morning to Romans chapter 6, verse 8. My goal this morning would be to try to cover verses 8, through 13.
And if you want to give a title to the message, it would be, what to do now that you are dead to sin. What to do now that you are dead, to sin. If you look at verse 8, he starts by saying, now, if we have died with Christ, So he's established the fact that we have died to sin in Christ. And now he turns a corner in verse 8, and following to tell us what we need to do, given that fact.
Let me read verses 1 through 7 to you just to review what we have learned. Paul says, what shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be....
