I want to begin this morning by sharing a piece of my personal testimony. I know that I've shared some things about my testimony before, but as far as this piece of my personal testimony, I'd like to focus our attention on Jonathan. Jonathan is the man who God used to reach out to me. And there are a few things that I want to say about Jonathan and his efforts at reaching out to me.
he took the initiative. he came to me. I, I did not go to him, he came to me with a desire in due time to see me come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We went to college together and as it turned out, we had classes together.
We were both history majors and he would oftentimes invite me over to his home in order that we might study together. Those of you in college consider inviting unsaved and unlovely folks into your home and study together with such people. He was always respectful of me, always respectful, and he would oftentimes pay sincere comp Compliments to me. at this time in my life, you gotta understand I was a fraternity dude with a drug addiction.
He was just, in, in my mind, I was not the type of person that a good Christian person would want to reach out to. This guy would reach out to me, show respect, pay sincere compliments, and in due time, and at the right time, he began to speak gospel truth to me, very appropriately. Another thing about Jonathan is, as far as his relationship to me and his efforts to win me to Christ, he refused to give up. He persevered, if you will....
