Father, we ask that you would glorify your Son this morning in our presence. As we hear from your word given to us by your Son. Where else can we go? You have the words of eternal life.
We pray this in Christ's name. Amen. Well, last week, Last week, Pastor Milton. took us through Genesis 32 with Jacob's wrestling with the angel Godman on the south side of the fort of Jabuk.
his opponent, as Milton suggested last week, was likely Jesus Christ himself trying on his clothes of incarnation, as it were. This morning, we're gonna be looking at Christ after he had come and, and humbled himself. Actually wearing his incarnation clothes and in fact, wearing his funeral suit, so to speak, preparing for his death, burial, resurrection and soon to be glorified, a process wherein Christ would actually remain in his clothes, as it were, though glorified. This prayer in John 17 is before Christ wrestles with the Father in the Garden of Gethsemane.
we see here the son not so much wrestling with his father as much as we see him in a warm up pre-cross prayer embrace, so to speak. He is having a long hug with his father before he walks into the lion's den. As it were And so, what we're gonna do is we're actually going to begin a, a three-part series, I'm sorry, not seeing what I was expecting. That's OK....
