It's wonderful to be here this morning and I appreciate your pastors and their kindness towards me and I bring greetings from our elders at the Reformed Baptist Church in Riverside. For those of you who were in the old building off the Lyndon, we were Caddy Corner, Iowa and Blaine right next to where Starbucks was. And in fact, if you were around a lot longer, you remember that was just an empty field and then they built the Starbucks right next to us. So we didn't even have to have a coffee cart, we just walked next door.
But, it's, my, my pastors wanted to extend their greetings to you that it is a real privilege to have two churches that are like-minded as I leaned over to my wife as we were singing. Every single song we sang this morning, we sing at our church and it's just wonderful to be in a church that is focused on the gospel. That is, is proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ, and is focused on grace, that, we, we no longer seeking to, save ourselves. We can rest in Christ alone through faith alone, all because of grace alone and God gets the glory for that.
Amen. this morning, we're going to look at Colossians chapter one, so feel free to turn your Bible there. Pastor Mike asked me to share a little bit about Haven today and that's where I've been working for the last 6.5 years. It's a Christian radio program and some of you may remember a name Haven of Rest.
It began in 1934, right in Los Angeles and has continued to this day. It's known as Haven today. but it is in, in March we'll be celebrating our eighty-fifth anniversary as a continuous daily radio program and there aren't many just radio programs in general that have that legacy, let alone a Christian one. So it's a real privilege to serve there and to work there and my boss is Charles Morris....
