Well, it is good to be with all of you this morning. If you will turn your Bibles to 1 Peter chapter 5. Our family is very humbled that Cornerstone has come around us to support us for ministry in the Philippines. And if you'd saw me a few years back and asked, Are you ever going to be a missionary, I'd say, no, not planning on it, but over the past few years, 2 or 3 years, the Lord has really worked in our hearts to call us to the mission field, and my wife and I were willing and ready to go, but we didn't have a place.
And we pray the Lord to give us a geographical location where we could go and, and really minister and help train men for pastoral ministry and expository preaching, and the Philippines is a wide open door and it's, it's just in a sense in its infant stage and we're going to be on the front end of that and so we. We really look forward to what will occur when we're over there, but in the meantime we're in the process of raising our support through, prayer and financial support and if you'd like to be a part of that or get on our newsletter list, just in the bulletins my email address and you can just send me an email with your name and home address, phone number, just some basic contact information. I'll respond back to you saying that you're added, you're on it, and then when any updates go out, you will automatically get those. I'm hoping to send out our first official one.
this coming week, it'll be the newsletter you would receive it's what was in the bulletin a couple of weeks ago, but, this will be our first launch, and we have a website and all kinds of information and ways where you can, track with us on what is going on and being able to pray for us, but we're here right now and so you can also see us around the, the campus on, Sundays and Wednesdays and, and, and talk with us if you would like. Again, if you turn your Bibles to 1 Peter chapter 5, this is our text for this morning. Let me read it to you, to give you a setting for our sermon. 1 Peter chapter 5 verses 1 to 11.
Peter writes, therefore, I exhort the elders among you as fellow elders and witnesses of the sufferings of Christ. And a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed. Shepherd the flock of God among you exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily according to the will of God and not for sordid gain but with eagerness, nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. And when the chief shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory....
