Lord, I'm just reminded, In our service this morning, how you speak to us in 1 Peter chapter 2, and, and you speak words of identity into us and you tell us who have believed in Christ for salvation. You say to us that we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood. A holy nation. A people for your own possession.
So that we, Lord, we have been saved. And brought into relationship with you and brought together as a people so that we may proclaim the excellencies. Of you who have called us out of darkness and into your marvelous light. We are called, Lord, to proclaim your Excellencies.
We are called to be a light in this increasingly dark world in which we live, and I pray, Lord, that you would help me, help all of us together to be A church that shines as a light full of people who shine as lights throughout the week and who proclaim your Excellencies through the lives we lead. And through the words that we speak as we hold the name of Jesus high. Help us to do that, even this morning. May any observers know that you truly are excellent by both what I say.
As I speak this morning, and may they also observe that and how all of us listen. To your voice this morning. We need your voice. There are so many voices clamoring for our attention, and we have heard thousands of voices this past week....
