Well, it's great to see all of you here this morning. As we, come to the part of our service where we open God's word and we worship Him by listening to him and what he has to say to us. Today, we're going to be coming back to our, marriage series and we'll be back on this series for the next, this week and then the next, two weeks, and, If you want to give a title to the message, this morning, please don't walk out. Is the bad news about marriage.
The bad news about marriage. And let me have you turn in your Bibles to, I think Genesis chapter 2, which is where we'll be actually Genesis 1, no, I think it's 2. All right, Genesis 2. we, in our first two messages on our, in our series on marriage, we looked at seven basic truths about, marriage, largely from Genesis chapter 2 verse 24.
And there is everything to love about what we saw. The seven truths that we have learned are that God created and owns the institution of marriage. God created marriage to be heterosexual. God established marriage to be the couple's most important relationship.
God created marriage to be covenantal. God also sanctioned marriage as the context for sexual intimacy. He blessed marriage as the context for procreation, and God created marriage to display the glories of the gospel. These are things that we have learned, thus far, and what is not to love about this picture, right?...
